Legendary piano player Sykes seems to be having a lot of fun on this recording with his band.  The  "Honeydripper," as he was affectionately called by his fans, had his first hit in 1929, and he continued to wow audiences live and on record until his death in 1984!  Here his assertive vocals and wicked barrel-house piano playing just keeps on going.  The dexterity on the ivories and playful vocals that he brings to the classic tune Honey Suckle Rose are worth the price of the CD alone.
