Northport N.Y. - M.C. Records is proud to announce that Gospel Legend
Marie Knight has released her first full length recording in over 25 years. The CD is a tribute to the late Reverend Gary Davis. Marie like Gary
Davis lives in Harlem and like Gary, Marie is a preacher. Marie spent 20 years with Gospel superstar Sister Rosetta Tharpe as a singer, songwriter and performer.
The sessions were produced by one of the truly great musicians of our time, Larry Campbell. He played all the stringed instruments as well.
Larry's work includes recording and touring with Bob Dylan as well as recordings with Willie Nelson, Roseanne Cash, Paul Simon, B.B. King, Lyle Lovette and Little Feat and Levon Helm to name a few. His
productions credits include The Dixie Hummingbirds, Richard Shindell, Lucy Kaplansky and Ollabelle.
M.C. Records is looking for licensing opportunities in all territories outside the United States.
Mark Carpentieri, owner of M.C. Records said "Marie and Larry is a great combination. People are
going to hear Rev. Gary Davis like never before. It's going to be an amazing recording!"
Marie has recently played the last two Lucerne Blues Festivals and also tours as part of the Tribute
To Sister Rosetta Tharpe with Odetta and The Holmes Brothers. Look for Marie to be touring in support of the new CD.
